PDP Requirements
*Membership in NJAEOP for at least TWO (2) Consecutive Years.
OPTION I A certificate is available upon successful completion of THREE (3) MANDATED college courses or an Educational Office Specialist certification:
Foundations of Education or Introduction to Education (3 credits)
Business Communications (3 credits) or Technical Writing (3 credits) or Technical Communication (3 credits)
Computer Application (3 credits) such as Introduction to Data Processing or a combination of courses such as Lotus 1-2-3, Windows, WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, etc. adding up to 3 credits
AND A NON-REFUNDABLE REGISTRATION FEE OF $15.00
OPTION II A certificate is available upon successful completion of THIRTY (30) college credits which MUST include FIVE (5) MANDATED courses (the three (3) above PLUS):
School Law or Education Law (3 credits)
Psychology of Human Relations (3 credits) or Introduction to Sociology (3 credits) or Introduction to Psychology (3 credits)
AND A NON-REFUNDABLE REGISTRATION FEE OF $25.00 (OR AN ADDITIONAL $10.00 FEE IF OPTION I HAS ALREADY BEEN RECOGNIZED.)
OPTION III A certificate is available upon completion of an Associate Degree or a minimum of sixty (60) college credits including the above five (5) courses
AND A NON-REFUNDABLE REGISTRATION FEE OF $35.00. (OR AN ADDITIONAL $10 FEE IF OPTION I AND II HAVE BEEN RECOGNIZED, OR AN ADDITIONAL $20.00 FEE IF ONLY OPTION I HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED.)
*Effective May 1, 1992, a seven (7) year time limit has been established for the evaluation of a course substitution for any of the five mandated course requirements.
