PDP Requirements

*Membership in NJAEOP for at least TWO (2) Consecutive Years.

OPTION I A certificate is available upon successful completion of THREE (3) MANDATED college courses or an Educational Office Specialist certification:

  • Foundations of Education or Introduction to Education (3 credits)

  • Business Communications (3 credits) or Technical Writing (3 credits) or Technical Communication (3 credits)

  • Computer Application (3 credits) such as Introduction to Data Processing or a combination of courses such as Lotus 1-2-3, Windows, WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, etc. adding up to 3 credits

AND A NON-REFUNDABLE REGISTRATION FEE OF $15.00

OPTION II A certificate is available upon successful completion of THIRTY (30) college credits which MUST include FIVE (5) MANDATED courses (the three (3) above PLUS):

  • School Law or Education Law (3 credits)

  • Psychology of Human Relations (3 credits) or Introduction to Sociology (3 credits) or Introduction to Psychology (3 credits)

AND A NON-REFUNDABLE REGISTRATION FEE OF $25.00 (OR AN ADDITIONAL $10.00 FEE IF OPTION I HAS ALREADY BEEN RECOGNIZED.)

OPTION III A certificate is available upon completion of an Associate Degree or a minimum of sixty (60) college credits including the above five (5) courses

AND A NON-REFUNDABLE REGISTRATION FEE OF $35.00. (OR AN ADDITIONAL $10 FEE IF OPTION I AND II HAVE BEEN RECOGNIZED, OR AN ADDITIONAL $20.00 FEE IF ONLY OPTION I HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED.)


*Effective May 1, 1992, a seven (7) year time limit has been established for the evaluation of a course substitution for any of the five mandated course requirements.
